‘The Story of the Foundling Hospital, London’ by Pamela Scott
Inspired by Captain Thomas Coram, a hospital for foundling babies was opened in London in the 1740s; William Hogarth used the opportunity of the new building to incorporate a picture gallery where living artists could display their work. This collection now forms the core of the Museum in Brunswick Square.

Afternoon Meeting with Cream Tea. ‘Cycling around the world’ by Pam Goodall
To celebrate her 60th birthday, Pam Goodall, who lives in West Sussex, decided that she would cycle around the world. Her talk relates her adventures en route. She cycled across Europe and through Asia finally arriving in China. From here she flew to America and cycled from west to east. Her book will be available to purchase after the meeting.

The topics include some background history of water supply, construction and working life of the engines, restoration and museum operations
